There are three types of skin tags that develop.  These skin tags develop on the top layer of skin, in the vagina or on the anis.

Skin tags are frequently inherited.  There is often an inherited tendency to develop tags on their face.  In most incidences skin tags can develop because of sinus problems between the sinus’ and the underlying layer of skin.  The skin has a deep color to it or has a stalk that dangles off the child’s ear.  Skin tags in children don’t have to be just on the ear.  They can be in front of their ear lobes.  They can have skin tags for other reasons that are not known.

These growths will not hurt your children’s health, but may need to be treated because children often scratch them so much that they bleed.  Parents’ can remedy this by applying a sterile bandage.  The child will probably be able to get into the bandage.  If their tags are a problem you might talk to the doctor about eliminating these tags.  One reason parents might decide to eradicate skin tags are so the child will not be ridiculed

If your child has a skin tag there is really no treason for concern.  If you want them removed you might also consider visiting a dermatologist.
